If you’re looking for Toronto Condo Rentals I hope this condo rentals tip will help.
Hi Im Chris Borkowski, you know me as “Condo” Chris and I’m a Broker with Remax Hallmark right here in the City of Toronto.
Today I’m at City Place in Toronto with another renters tip.
Let say your landlord tries to charge you what we call a “security” or “damage” deposit.
Your landlord decides hat he wants to keep $500 in case there is any damage to his unit at the end of the lease.
Is that legal?
No It’s not legal. A landlord can only charge you 2 extra deposits.
The first is for last months rent. And the second, in the case of these condos, is for keys, door openers, or fobs.
So, once again. Your landlord CAN NOT charge you a security deposit. Only last months rent and for keys and fobs.
I hope you enjoyed todays tip for renters.
